Pray for missionaries and inspire others to pray with you.
YOUR JOB:
Every church needs a concerted effort to pray for missionaries. Even with the best intentions, prayer will lapse without an organized leader. We know the value of going before our Father in Heaven, of always giving thanks for the work that others are doing, and for praying for the harvest. Your job is to get people started and to keep them going.
You need to find ways to encourage those who will pray. They need to feel that they are in touch with those on the field.
IDEAS:
Consolidated Prayer Lists: By gathering the information from all the church’s missionaries in order to formulate one prayer request list, you will be doing a great service to those who are willing to pray and to the missionary efforts. You will also find that this is a great way to get to know the missionaries that your church supports.
Prayer Events: Prayer meetings offer a way to gather people for the specific purpose of praying for missions and missionaries.
Short-term trips: Take a team on a missions trip with the primary goal of praying for the people and the work that is being done.
